BOOK NOWQigong was developed in China thousands of years ago as part of traditional Chinese medicine. 'Qi' is the life force energy that keeps you alive. Qigong involves using exercises to optimise energy within the body, mind, and spirit, with the goal of improving and maintaining health and well-being. Qigong has both psychological and physical components and involves the regulation of the mind, breath, and body’s movement and posture. At the start of the session, Irene will teach you to feel your Qi energy between your palms; to breathe deeply and slowly; to focus your attention and visualisation; and to clear, tonify and feel the Qi energy flowing throughout your body. The Qigong and Sound Immersion session will reflect the Spring season. It begins with the graceful movements of Qigong (Wood element) and deep, rhythmic breathing, allowing your body to flow and your mind to find a serene focus. As the last gentle postures give way to stillness, the atmosphere shifts with the enchanting frequencies of the gongs, crystal bowls, ocean drum, windchimes and other amazing sound instruments resonating throughout the room. As you lie on the yoga mat, the rich, harmonic vibrations of the sound instruments interweave with the lingering calm from the Qigong practice, creating a deep, soothing meditative zen-surround experience. By the end, you will emerge with a profound sense of tranquility and rejuvenation, your energy beautifully aligned by the seamless blend of mindful movement and resonant sounds that reflect the Spring season of renewal and growth. There are some yoga mats and blankets available at the studio, but we encourage you to bring your own yoga mats and blankets.
